A free hit is the delivery after a no-ball in formats that use the rule. The batter cannot be out bowled, LBW, caught or stumped from it. Run out and a few other dismissals can still happen.

Runs off the bat from a free hit count to the batter. The no-ball run is recorded separately as an extra.

Questions scorers actually ask

01 Is every no-ball followed by a free hit?
Only in formats that use it. Check the playing conditions.
02 Can the batter be run out off a free hit?
Yes. A run out is one of the dismissals that still applies.
