Hat-trick

01

Three wickets in three consecutive balls by one bowler, which may span overs. Mark it; do not skip balls to make it look prettier.

A hat-trick is three wickets for the same bowler on three consecutive legal balls, which can cross an over. Wides and no-balls can break the run, depending on the rules.

Mark it in the book. Do not change the order of balls to make it look neater.

Questions scorers actually ask

01 Can a hat-trick span two overs?
Yes. It needs three consecutive legal balls, not three in one over.
02 Does a no-ball break a hat-trick?
A no-ball is not a legal ball, so it can change the sequence. Check the Laws and the record.
